Job Description
We are seeking an accomplished and dynamic Business Unit Manager to lead our Solid Tumour Oncology team, spearheading both sales and marketing leadership initiatives. This is a key role in helping define and set the strategy and structure for AbbVie in Solid Tumours then develop and execute the Go to Market Strategy. This will be achieved by inspiring your team to make a significant positive impact on the patients we serve.
Interstate Travel required in-frequently (every 4-6 weeks), and International Travel very infrequently (1-2 times a year).
This BUM role supervisors the National Sales Manager (Solid Tumours), Brand Marketers, and shares the reporting for a Marketing Assistant.
Key duties & responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the marketing and sales teams. Inspire and mentor your team to achieve and exceed business goals, creating an environment of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.Marketing Excellence: Drive the development and implementation of cutting-edge marketing strategies. Engage with stakeholders to create insights driven, captivating omni-channel campaigns that align with our brand philosophy and resonate with our target audience.Sales Leadership: Lead and coach the sales team to optimise performance and achieve sales objectives. Establish clear targets and incentive schemes to drive success and enhance team performance.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Gathering, analysing and synthesising data to generate impactful insights that drive action.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Drive effective collaboration across various departments, ensuring that the business unit's goals align with the overall objectives of AbbVie. Cultivate a culture of knowledge sharing and synergy.Financial Acumen: Oversee financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management. Ensure fiscal responsibility and strategic allocation of resources to maximise ROI.Drive High Performance outcomes: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of business initiatives. Implement corrective actions where necessary to ensure optimal performance.Innovation and Growth: Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and potential challenges. Develop strategies that leverage these insights to drive growth and maintain our competitive edge.Team Development: Build a high-performing team. Develop, coach talent and have relentless focus on succession plans in order to ensure continuous high performance and engaged talent pipeline in Sales and Marketing. Provide mentorship, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a culture of professional growth and development.Quality

Qualifications
Tertiary qualification with Marketing/Business or Science disciplines or equivalent. Breadth of industry experience in both sales and marketing leadership rolesProven track record of delivering resultsProven ability to inspire and lead a team and work effectively cross-functionally.Skills and Abilities

Proven experience (at least 10 years) in leadership roles within the pharmaceutical industry with significant experience or knowledge of the Solid Tumour market.Experience with defining GTM strategies and building teams and governance to support AbbVie OncologyExperience leading teams (ideally in field commercial teams)Experience working with Companion Diagnostics is highly valued.Curiosity – experience in developing insights and delivering solutions to oncology market challenges, working with cross functional teams to deliver exceptional outcomesFlexibility and Availability: In line with Australia’s 'Right to Disconnect' legislation, we recognise and respect employees' right to refuse contact outside of their working hours, unless such refusal is deemed unreasonable.
