Purpose of the position
Hiab is looking for a Business Unit Director, Forestry & Recycling. The role is responsible for the strategic direction, operational leadership, and financial performance of the business unit. It drives innovation, value creation, and growth by developing scalable capabilities, securing key talent, and delivering competitive solutions that strengthen the company’s market position. The position also ensures effective business and process integration, supports future competencies, and safeguards core differentiators to sustain long-term competitiveness. The primary location is Stargard, however the position may also be located in Zaragosa, Bologna, Hudiksval, Malmo, Meppel, Valentuna, Helsinki or Raisio.
Main tasks and responsibilitiesDevelop and implement a strategy for the business unit Accountability and P/L responsibility for the business unit Lead, drive and monitor organisation development, culture building and business performance of business unit Secure key talent and develop organisation within the business unit for the medium and long term Lead the business integration process ensuring business case realisation in accordance with business plans Lead the process integrations Lead and safeguard a strong innovation funnel Focus on value creation by securing internal profitability Develop scalable R&D, production and technology platform as internal provider for the Divisions Prepare the business unit for growth by investments in assets and employees Drive fundamental research projects together with Divisions and potentially third parties such as institutes, universities and other relevant partners Invest in supporting future competencies and differentiators Secure governmental funding and tax benefits related to innovation where possible Prioritise Division projects based on clear business cases and governance model.
