Business Unit Controller

We’re looking for an Operations Controller in the industrial equipment industry based in Surrey, BC. 

Our client is a growing, diversified organization with multiple business units spanning equipment sales, service, and rentals. With a collaborative, hands-on culture, the team values accountability, problem-solving, and cross-functional partnership. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance leader to step into a critical role within a business poised for continued expansion.

Operations Controller responsibilities:

Oversee full-cycle accounting including reconciliations, working papers, and inventory management Prepare accurate financial statements, variance analysis, and management reports Partner with operations to advise on costing, profitability, and investment decisions Lead and mentor a small finance team, providing day-to-day guidance and support Attend weekly management meetings to provide financial insights and recommendations Ensure compliance with corporate accounting standards and controls Support strategic initiatives and contribute to continuous business improvement

The successful candidate has:

 CPA designation (required) 5 or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience Strong technical accounting knowledge paired with operational and financial analysis expertise Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments Experience in equipment sales, service, rental, or manufacturing considered an asset

Compensation and benefits:

The discussed salary range is $100,000 – $120,000 depending on experience Comprehensive employer-paid health and dental benefits Group RRSP
