We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Business Unit (BU) Planner to play a key role in driving the success of two of CGI's business units in Canada. This role combines strategic business planning with hands-on coordination - supporting BU leadership teams in turning plans into action, organizing key initiatives, and ensuring smooth execution across the units.
You'll work closely with senior leaders to analyze performance and manage planning processes. You'll help bring clarity and structure to meetings, presentations, and communications that drive key decisions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment. If you enjoy both analysis and organization — and want to make a tangible impact on the business — this opportunity is for you!
Strategic Planning & Analysis
•Partner with BU leaders to support business performance analysis, forecasting, and reporting
•Consolidate and interpret operational and financial data to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities
•Support the development and execution of the annual business plan, coordinating with finance, HR, and marketing teams
•Track KPIs, financial objectives, and strategic initiatives to ensure the BU stays on course
•Prepare insightful reports and executive summaries to support data-driven decisions
Leadership Support & Coordination
•Help plan and manage senior leadership meetings, offsites, and business planning sessions. This may include agenda development, content creation, and follow-up coordination
•Prepare presentation materials for key business reviews, client meetings, and leadership updates
•Work with the Internal Communications team to coordinate, approve, and distribute important partner communications
•Gather and synthesize inputs from across the BU to deliver accurate and polished materials on time
•Provide backup support for regular performance and bid review meetings as needed
Operational Coordination & Reporting
•Develop and maintain templates and reports to ensure consistency and clarity in business reporting
•Coordinate post-event surveys and feedback reports to assess outcomes and share insights with leadership
•Manage timelines, competing priorities, and evolving requirements to ensure all deliverables are completed with precision
•Collaborate with other BU planners across Canada to align with national and corporate planning processes
Process Improvement & Tool Management
•Act as a point of contact for BU leaders on planning tools, data requests, and performance tracking
•Recommend and implement improvements to business planning processes. Ensure accurate and timely input of BU data into corporate systems (e.g., CRM, financial dashboards)
•University degree, preferred Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field
•4-6 years of relevant experience in business planning, financial analysis, or operations support
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
•Advanced MS Office skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel
•Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
•Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
•Demonstrated autonomy, rigor, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications & Attributes
•Experience working in a large professional services or technology organization.
•Familiarity with CRM systems and business performance tools
•High level of business acumen and financial literacy
•Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with senior executives
•Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take initiative
