OVERVIEW: The Business Systems Analyst III serves as a critical connector across all departments, ensuring that business needs are accurately elicited, analyzed, and documented before solutions are defined. This role requires becoming deeply knowledgeable in the processes that support our products and acting as the liaison between business operations and IT to enable efficient and precise communication. Starting with conceptual information, the analyst refines requirements within the broader business context, drives cross-functional alignment, and translates solution components into actionable deliverables for execution teams. The role also supports deployment and ongoing operational execution, including direct support for low/no-code software configurations where appropriate. The ideal candidate takes initiative, challenges assumptions, and continuously innovates to strengthen Biodesix’s ability to meet strategic business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Elicit, analyze, document, and communicate company, department, business systems, and user needs by collaborating with all departments within the business. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of product offerings and associated processes, while fostering alignment across departments. Serve as the primary liaison between business operations and IT, ensuring clear and effective communication. Author user requirements, software requirements, and other related artifacts such as process flow diagrams and state transition diagrams. Manage projects by defining project scope, setting timelines, and coordinating resources to ensure successful completion. Identify relevant KPIs and metrics for business processes to measure effectiveness, track improvements, and support data-driven decision-making. Prepare and deliver engaging demos and presentations to stakeholders, ensuring complex information is clearly conveyed and understood. Identify end-to-end test scenarios for software releases and create requirements traceability documentation as required. Assist end users with change management, including deployment support and providing training. Support system maintenance by evaluating and prioritizing software and hardware issues and coordinating resolutions. Stay current with technology and industry trends, provide recommendations for continuous improvement, and pursue supplemental training as needed. Collaborate with members of the IT team to proactively advance technology initiatives and consistently apply best practices. REQUIREMENTS: Ability to analyze complex information, elicit and validate requirements, resolve conflicts, and track changes Strong problem-solving and communication skills; adapt style to audience; facilitate collaboration between business and IT Effective team player with organizational skills to balance multiple priorities and support shared goals Self-motivated and adaptable to fast-changing, innovative environments Familiarity with HIPAA, data management/integrity, relational databases (SQL), and issue tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, Bugzilla), preferred Experience in regulated software environments, with exposure to labs, medical businesses, or LIMS, preferred EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration, preferred 4-6 years of hands-on experience as a Programmer Analyst, Requirements Analyst, or Business Analyst Comfort and experience in Agile/Scrum environment Extensive experience in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint Demonstrable communication skills with technical and non-technical teammates (written and verbal) COMPENSATION Annual Base Salary Range $96,400 to $113,400 Discretionary Bonus opportunity Comprehensive health coverage: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance: Short/Long Term Disability and Life Insurance Financial benefits: 401(k), Flex Spending Account 120 hours of annual vacation 72 hours of paid sick time off 11 paid holidays + 3 floating holidays Employee Assistance Program Voluntary Benefits Employee recognition program Individual base compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related aspects.
