Akima is seeking a Business Support Specialist to provide essential support to our Corporate Development Operations, Proposal Operations, and Sales Enablement functions. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to maximize business-winning activities, including RFI development, knowledge management, and growth facilitation initiatives. This position is based at Akima’s headquarters in Herndon, VA. This role offers exposure to multiple stages of the competitive win process—from RFI development through proposal submission—in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly identify priorities and adapt to changing demands while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today! **Responsibilities** + Support Coordinators and Proposal Managers in developing RFIs, creating templates, and managing all activities leading up to submission + Serve as the company liaison for all RFIs across Akima, ensuring activities are tracked, documented, and available for detailed monitoring and analytics + Provide desktop publishing support to produce high-quality, visually compelling materials for RFIs and proposals + Manage the Corporate Development Lessons Learned calendar and assist with data collection for related presentations + Serve as lead librarian for the company’s Past Performance Library, RFI repository, Proposal Content Library, and KMS libraries + Assist writing teams with key deliverables, past performance archiving, and repository quality control + Contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of KMS, Rohan, and Power BI dashboards + Gain exposure to the broader Corporate Development Organization through brief rotations in Corporate Development Operations, the IDIQ/GWAC PMO, and Proposal Operations + Conduct regular pipeline hygiene audits and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure all entries are complete, accurate, and up to date **Qualifications** + Familiarity with business process flow and organizational principles + Bachelor’s degree plus related industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education, work experience, and training in a relevant field + Understanding of business-winning activities + Basic knowledge of the federal government contracting and procurement process **Preferred Qualifications:** + Self-motivated, organized, and driven to deliver results + Strong customer service skills + Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities + Proven ability to meet and exceed challenging goals + Interest in serving as a growth agent within Akima ***This is a full-time, in-office position; remote work is not available currently.** **Job ID** 2025-18533 **Work Type** On-Site **Company Description** **Work Where it Matters** Akima is not just another global enterprise and federal contractor.
