About the Role

Are you highly organised and enjoy providing effective support services to a team? Then we want to hear from you!

We are seeking an experienced Business Support Officer to join our Portland Aluminium team. Working Monday to Friday, this is a full-time role. You will be accountable for providing administrative, organisational and information management support to internal and external customers adding value to the business by delivering a cost effective, prompt, reliable and timely support service.

Other key responsibilities include:

Responsible for the coordination and management of documents within the document control system, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with organisational standards.

Delivers project management and audit support utilising appropriate software tools and office equipment.

Provides administrative support to the ISO accreditation process, assisting with documentation, record-keeping, and compliance tracking.

Maintains precise and up-to-date records, including safety documentation, inductions, and training logs.

Performs ad hoc administrative tasks to support departmental needs and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Coordinates departmental travel requests, including booking arrangements, preparing itineraries, and ensuring compliance with travel policies.

What you can bring to the role

Demonstrated experience in providing high-level administrative support within an office environment, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with a proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on professionalism and effectiveness

Highly adaptable and capable of performing well under pressure in dynamic work environments.

Maintains discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive or confidential information.

Demonstrates initiative by identifying opportunities for process improvement and proactively addressing administrative challenges.

Friendly, approachable, and collaborative, with a strong ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

About the Location

Our Portland Smelter is a joint venture between Alcoa of Australia (55%), CITIC (22.5%) and Marubeni Aluminium Australia (22.5%).
