What You'll Do

This is a 13 month contract to provide cover for the GS Munich Hub Leader.

 

As the GS Munich Hub Leader, you will own the on-the-ground leadership of the hub, translating global Hub Management Services (HMS) strategy into a vibrant, safe, inclusive, and high-performing environment for all employees hosted there.

 

You will shape the hub’s identity, create strong connections to BCG’s core business, and ensure seamless operations that reflect our six HMS values: Safety, Well-being, Risk & Resilience; Creating Connections; Experience Excellence; Office Service Excellence; Operational Efficiency & Scalability and Hub Leadership

 

You will partner closely with the Hub Sponsor, Local leaders, Hub HR, and your counterparts across Central Europe, as well as the broader Hub Management Services team, ensuring GS Munich is consistent with global standards while retaining a locally resonant culture. You’ll be a visible leader: engaging employees, surfacing issues early, and enabling high-quality service across facilities, IT coordination, space management, and events.

 

The role requires a balanced blend of strategic leadership and operational oversight — setting direction while staying close enough to the day-to-day to support a smooth, safe, and connected environment.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Hub Leadership & Strategic AlignmentManage the Munich hub plan with clear goals, priorities, and success measures.Embed the Hub Management Services operating model into GS Munich, including managing a cadence of impactful meetings of senior leadership team.Represent the Munich hub in regional/global hub leadership discussions, escalating risks, opportunities, and insights.Provide thoughtful stewardship during change initiatives – particularly real estate topics, ensuring clarity, pacing, and stakeholder engagement.

      2. Creating Connections

Enable a client (BCG)-first mindset by creating strong ties to BCG’s core business through forums, showcases, and leadership touchpoints.Build impactful relationships across Central Europe and the Munich CT office to further business connection and ensure effective operationsStrengthen relationships across functions, employee network leads , hosted teams, and external partners, ensuring the hub is well connected into the broader system.Champion “OneBCG” teaming, reinforcing collaboration, consistency, and visibility across teams hosted in the hub and beyond across Germany.Tailor communications for specific audiences, from all-staff updates to senior leadership moments all ensuring alignment with BCG’s brand and values.

      3. Safety, Well-being, Risk & Resilience

Prioritize a safe, compliant, and resilient workplace, ensuring alignment with global physical security, health & safety, and risk expectations.Conduct tabletop exercises, lead incident escalation, and maintain readiness across staff and vendors.Partner closely with Risk, HR, and Global Security to address issues proactively and maintain a culture of care and confidence.

      4. Experience Excellence

Deliver a purposeful affiliation and engagement calendar built around the HMS pillars (connect to BCG, to each other, to stakeholders, and service excellence).Drive inclusion, recognition, and cultural consistency in partnership with HR, aligning with BCG’s EVP and DE&I priorities.Use People Survey and pulse feedback and other KPIs to shape action plans and track progress.Shape the office identity and tone through thoughtful cultural moments, promoting existing recognition programs, and visual storytelling through compelling communications.Partner with Hub Sponsor, and Senior Leadership Team to integrate leadership presence into key moments and milestones.

      5. Office Service Excellence

Engage with BCG Munich to ensure in office experience, including vendor delivered services meet the needs of our hosted teams.

     6. Operational Efficiency & Scalability

Track and improve key operational metricsDeliver efficiency initiatives—optimising space, costs, and service models while preserving a high-quality employee experience.Partner with Global Real Estate on capacity planning, small works, upgrades, and long-term space strategy.

Translating strategy into meaningful and inclusive workplace experiences.Leading end-to-end planning and delivery of high-profile events and campaigns.Designing programs that reflect BCG’s values and strengthen community ties.Building strong relationships across teams, networks, and external partners.Managing vendors, budgets, and communications to a high operational standard.Using insights, feedback, and data to continuously enhance the employee experience.

What You'll Bring

8+ years’ experience in workplace leadership & engagement, events, culture, or corporate communications.Written and oral German and English at a professional levelExperience working in a fast-paced, professional services or shared-services environment, with comfort navigating multiple stakeholder needsStrong project management skills with experience running large-scale events and multi-touch programs.Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and levels, including senior stakeholders.Confidence with budgets, operational documentation and data literacy.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.Creativity, curiosity, and a deep sense of ownership for employee experience.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn other core software such as event planning, communication, and office operations.Demonstrated people leadership skills, including coaching, developing, and motivating staff and fostering a positive, inclusive, and service-first environment.Comfort working in an in-person, dynamic, and visible role.Must be comfortable to be in-office 4-5 days a week.

As a result, there is a mix of locally-based managers, and teams who are managed by leaders working out of another BCG office.
