About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Program Vice President to lead our Regulatory Advisory function within the First Line of Defense (1LOD). This role is critical in ensuring our Pathward operations align with evolving regulatory expectations while enabling innovation and growth. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to business units, providing proactive guidance on regulatory risks, compliance obligations, and control frameworks.
What You Will Do:
Serves as the primary regulatory advisor to business units, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Leads the design and implementation of first-line risk and control frameworks to manage regulatory risk across products and services. Partners with Legal, Compliance, and Internal Audit to ensure a coordinated approach to regulatory risk management. Monitors regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations, providing timely and actionable insights. Drafts clear, concise memoranda and briefing documents for senior executives, outlining regulatory recommendations, risk assessments, and strategic implications. Supports regulatory exams, audits, and inquiries by preparing documentation and coordinating responses. Develops and deliver training and awareness programs to promote a strong risk culture across the organization. Oversees risk assessments, control testing, and issue remediation efforts within the first line. Represents the company in industry forums and with regulators, as appropriate. Other duties as assigned.What You Will Need:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field or equivalent education and work experience. Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, legal, or risk management roles, preferably within fintech, banking, or financial services. 10 years of experience in consumer, commercial, credit or partner solutions risk management, or financial product design, with a strong understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks. In-depth knowledge of credit program design, regulatory requirements, and risk management principles. Expertise in interpreting and applying regulations (e.g., Basel III, Dodd-Frank) in a practical, market-driven context. Strong analytical and data interpretation skills to assess the impact of regulatory changes on credit products. Ability to develop risk-informed strategies that align with business needs and market demands. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with diverse stakeholders. A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to anticipate regulatory and market changes and design credit programs accordingly. Strong critical thinker with problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex challenges with a risk-aware approach. Ability to work independently while managing multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.The responsibilities listed above are not all inclusive and may be changed at any time.
Salary range: $151,672.07 – $250,258.92
The salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this role. Individual pay within the range will be determined by multiple factors which can include but are not limited to a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
