What is the opportunity?

The position of Business Resilience Associate supports the Operational Resilience (OR) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) functions within Wealth Management Europe (WME). This role supports business units in meeting the maximum level of conforming to RBC policy, regulatory compliance imperatives and industry standards for Operational Resilience, Incident Management, Crisis Management, Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Planning.

RBC’s expectation is that from mid-September 2025, all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.

What will you do?

Support activities within the wider Operational Resilience team and to champion the embedding of a resilience-awareness culture throughout the business.

Administration, co-ordination and to support the divisional Business Continuity Cycle.

Track due dates for BCM document reviews and updates within the division.

Provide support and guidance to Business Owners and delegates in updating BCM documents and formalising recovery strategies.

Ensure up-to-date and related documentation are stored and accessible in the appropriate registers and repositories.

Facilitate BCM inductions and training for all new BR Champions, Heads of Offices, Silver and Gold IMT members, ORG members and other stakeholders as required.

Support Business Owners and delegates in resolving all BCM control deficiencies and issues identified within the division.

Work with departments to develop scenarios and tailor tests to each department/ office.

In case of incident or disruptive event, provide support to the Incident Management Team, maintaining a working relationship with other Incident Management Teams.

In the case of an incident requiring BCP invocation, provide supervision of triage activities, engage with BCM supporting teams, and act as a liaison between BU/FU affected and senior management as required.

Provide support to the Head of Operational Resilience and Dealing and the Operational Resilience Manager in Scenario Testing exercises.

Assist the business in dependency mapping critical processes, providing support, training and appropriate challenge to business stakeholders.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Working experience in the financial services sector.

Strong communication, facilitation and influencing skills.

Ability to interact and work effectively with staff at all levels of the business to build and maintain relationships.

The skill to think logically and analyse complex situations for effective solutions.

The ability to produce clear and concise reports in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Nice-to-have

Working experience within a resilience or business continuity focused team in financial services.

Any business continuity certifications.
