Job Summary:
The Source to Pay Business Process Manager (BPM) is responsible for establishing and leading the strategic direction, governance, and execution of end-to-end Source to Pay (S2P) processes across the enterprise. This role provides leadership to drive operational excellence, prioritization of initiatives, optimize procurement and payment operations, strengthen vendor relationships, and ensure seamless integration of technology and process improvements.
The S2P BPM position oversees the portfolio of S2P initiatives, including intake, assessment, prioritization, approval, and assignment of all S2P initiatives, ensuring they are executed effectively and on time as committed. This position is accountable for ensuring initiatives are aligned to the S2P End-to-End strategy, executed effectively, and deliver measurable outcomes. This role partners with senior leadership and key stakeholders across Supply Chain Management, AFT, Accounts Payable, Maximo and Enterprise Foundations Technology Support Teams, and Business Operations to enable one-source of prioritization between two organizations, improve process reliability, and respond proactively to evolving business needs.
The key priorities for this role include driving efficiencies and improvements in the Source to Pay process that encompasses Maximo and Oracle Cloud integrations, reducing invoice and payment cycle times, supporting compliance, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. This role is also responsible for the health and performance of the S2P workstream, overseeing change management, training, and stakeholder engagement to ensure adoption of process enhancements.
This role requires a strategic mindset, strong executive presence, and the ability to influence complex, cross-functional environments.
NOTE – The successful candidate will be required to be in the office a minimum of four (4) days per week. Office location will either be at the Energy Center (3535 Colonnade Parkway, Birmingham, Alabama) or Georgia Power Corporate Headquarters (241 Ralph McGill Boulevard, Atlanta, Georgia).
Responsibilities:
Establish and communicate the strategic vision for Source to Pay business processes, aligning goals and initiatives with enterprise objectives. Lead and manage S2P improvement initiatives, ensuring accountability for outcomes, resource alignment, and risk mitigation. Drive continuous improvement in procurement operations, vendor management, and payment processes to achieve operational excellence and efficiency. Serve as the driver and escalation point for S2P initiatives, ensuring timely resolution of issues and removal of barriers to success. Drive improvements in system integrations between Maximo and Oracle Cloud to reduce invoice holds, accelerate payment, and enhance data reliability. Collaborate with leading enterprise-wide change management efforts to support adoption of new processes and technologies. Foster collaboration and alignment among Business Process Leaders, Executive Advisors, Project Managers, Technology teams (Maximo and Enterprise Foundations), Transaction Accounting, and Supply Chain leadership. Oversee training strategy and execution to build process capability and support continuous learning. Monitor and report on key performance indicators, driving accountability and ongoing performance improvement. Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation plans to protect the integrity and reliability of S2P processes. Engage with executive leadership & stakeholders across AFT, Accounts Payables Supply Chain, and Business Operations to ensure strategic alignment and support for future-state initiatives. Ensure communication, engagement, and adoption for all process changes.Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is required. 7+ years of experience in the utility industry or related field in Process Management, Accounting, Finance, or Treasury required with at least 3 years of experience leading cross-functional departments and teams preferred. Must have a minimum of 3 years leadership or management experience. Strong understanding of Source to Pay processes and their integration within the Southern Company's organizational framework. Strong change agent, capable of driving adoption and continuous improvement across diverse stakeholder groups. Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels. High degree of initiative, ownership, and professional integrity. Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide processes & cross-functional initiatives. Strong understanding of Source to Pay processes, including procurement operations, vendor management, accounts payable, and system integrations. Lead and drive strategic changes in the Source to Pay processes, ensuring their alignment with Southern Company’s future objectives. Strong working knowledge of Oracle Fusion, Maximo, and end-to-end Procure to Pay workflows. Proven track record in leading and managing business process changes and improvements. Experience coaching and mentoring teams, promoting self-organization and continuous improvement. Ability to navigate stakeholder relationships and coordinate cross-functional efforts. Monitor key performance indicators to gauge the success of process changes and drive continuous improvement. Partners with business leaders across the organization and work closely with the technology organization to ensure resources and strategies are aligned to current and future needs of the business. Broad knowledge of the utility business functions, and an understanding of how the Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain and Treasury functions add value to these organizations. Ability to lead and manage through change. Should be recognized as a change agent.
