Business Operations Associate

Position Summary

Ken Garff Automotive Group is seeking a Business Operations Associate to join our Business Operations team at our Salt Lake City headquarters. This role is ideal for a finance professional or MBA graduate with 1–3 years of experience in corporate finance, FP&A, consulting, or transaction advisory who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys solving complex business problems.

As a key partner to the Director of Business Development, this individual will collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, and Operations teams across our 70 dealerships. The Business Operations Associate will play a central role in budgeting, forecasting, investor presentations, real estate, and operational strategy initiatives — directly contributing to how we run and grow our business.

This is a unique opportunity to gain C-suite exposure, high-impact project experience, and a blend of finance and strategy responsibilities in an entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead dealership-level and corporate financial planning cycles, ensuring accurate forecasting and actionable variance analysis.Operational Strategy: Analyze dealership operations and recommend strategies to improve efficiency, profitability, and scalability.Executive Presentations: Develop polished investor and rating agency presentations, along with executive-level decks for quarterly and annual reviews and conferences.Financial Analysis: Build models to evaluate business performance, conduct ad hoc financial analysis, and support decision-making across the enterprise.M&A Support: Contribute to valuation, financial modeling, and integration analysis for potential acquisitions.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with HR, IT, and Accounting teams on system improvements, workforce planning, and operational initiatives.Special Projects: Lead or support high-impact projects assigned by the Director of Business Operations or executive leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field1–3 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, consulting, transaction advisoryStrong understanding of the three major financial statements and how they connect.Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPointExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.Strong communication skills — able to distill complex analysis into clear recommendations.Highly organized multitasker with a proven ability to manage projects to completion.Entrepreneurial, self-starterIn-Person Role / 5 days a week in Salt Lake City; occasional travel to dealerships
