Qavvik Air is a 100% Native-owned and locally led aviation company providing safe, reliable, and efficient air ambulance transportation services to the NANA Region and across Alaska. The Business Operations Analyst supports the financial, operational, and administrative functions of Qavvik Air, with an emphasis on revenue analysis, insurance collections, project oversight, and performance reporting. This individual will be instrumental in ensuring effective coordination across finance, operations, and external stakeholders such as insurance providers and healthcare partners.
**Responsibilities**
Key Responsibilities
+ Develop and maintain reporting tools to track key operational and financial performance indicators.
+ Analyze trends and variances in billing and receivables and provide recommendations to leadership.
+ Document processes and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
+ Manage coordination with insurance companies and third-party payors for claims processing and reimbursement.
+ Ensure timely and accurate submission of invoices for medevac services.
+ Follow up on outstanding receivables and address payment delays or denials.
+ Collaborate with billing teams to reconcile payments and maintain documentation.
+ Conduct regular reviews of insurance and partner accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
+ Prepare financial summaries, aging reports, and collection updates for internal use.
+ Support audits and regulatory reporting as required.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
+ 3–5 years of experience in business operations, financial analysis, or accounting.
+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial or ERP systems preferred.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Current Drivers License with a clean 3 year driving record.
PreferredRequirements
+ Experience in the aviation, healthcare, or emergency transport industries
+ Familiarity with medical billing practices, CPT/ICD codes, or healthcare reimbursement
+ Understanding of Alaska Native communities or regional healthcare systems
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
**Weather:** Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.
**Noise level:** The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office or home office atmosphere.
**Description of environment:** Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and use standard office equipment
**Physical requirements:** Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
**Travel:** Employee may travel up to various locations within Alaska/or remote locations and may be required to use alternative modes of transportation, including but not limited to snow machines, boats, small airplanes, and ATVs.
Competencies
+ Learn core protocols, common terms, and definitions used in Qavvik flight operations.
+ Understand the full flow of each mission—from initial request to execution.
+ Develop strong communication and coordination skills.
+ Be trained to handle high-stress scenarios with calm, clear communication.
