About The Role:
The Business Intelligence Manager for the CBRE GWS Insights Team is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving business intelligence initiatives that support real estate data analysis across CBRE’s client portfolio. This position oversees a team of analysts and serves as both a project manager and technical lead, ensuring the delivery of high-impact analytics solutions that optimize operations across service lines including facilities management, project management, finance, portfolio administration, and cost forecasting.
The manager will lead efforts to automate data collection from operational systems, architect and maintain data warehouses and semantic layers, and develop advanced Tableau dashboards that transform raw data into actionable insights. In addition to technical leadership, this role requires strong people management skills, including coaching, performance development, and project oversight for direct reports.
Additionally, the CBRE GWS Insights Team helps our clients develop budgets, benchmark facility operating costs, and predict upcoming capital requirements. A manager leads projects to collect the requisite client real estate data, build and refine cost models using CBRE tools, and present a meaningful financial story in formal reports and briefings.
A critical component of this role is managing complex stakeholder relationships. The Business Analytics Manager must demonstrate exceptional communication and influence skills to align diverse stakeholder groups, facilitate strategic conversations, and translate business needs into scalable analytics solutions.
The ideal candidate excels in Tableau, data modeling, relational databases, project management, client communication, and corporate real estate. Demonstrated ability. This position requires a minimum of 2 days in Office with the remainder remote.
What You'll Do:
+ Lead and manage a team of business analysts, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development to ensure high-quality delivery and team growth.
+ Serve as both technical lead and project manager for complex business intelligence initiatives across corporate and government clients, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
+ Own stakeholder engagement strategy, facilitating complex conversations across diverse client groups to define project scope, manage expectations, and drive consensus.
+ Perform both technical lead and project manager responsibilities for business intelligence projects for a variety of corporate and government clients.
+ To prevent scope expansion, the manager should maintain transparent communication with the project's partners and ensure detailed documentation of the project's needs.
+ Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation; managing project scope; adjusting schedules when vital; determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and breakthroughs; following proper critical issue paths; and managing customer and supplier relationships
+ Develop project schedules, plans, and specs; estimate time/resources; monitor progress; supervise project phases; report issues; resolve conflicts
+ Create, maintain and optimize creative data visualizations and dashboards (primarily in Tableau) to derive actionable intelligence.
+ Provide domain expertise on data-related processes and analyses.
+ Design, handle, and enhance semantic data models usingKyvosto enable scalable, high-performance analytics and intuitive dashboard integration.
+ Elicit and clearly document business and data requirements to ensure inclusion in the final solution.
+ Present progress and results to clients (both in-person and virtually) and collects feedback for revisions.
+ Prepare formal presentations and/or written reports describing project methodology, scope, key assumptions, and results.
+ Collaborate with CBRE’s Digital and Technology team to implement automated technical solution for business intelligence projects.
+ Network and cultivate relationships with Domain experts within and outside the organization to bring expertise to the team when appropriate.
+ Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple participants
+ Opportunities to participate in broader team activities such as coordination of learning and development initiatives and employee engagement programs.
What You'll Need
+ Bachelor's degree (BA/BS or equivalent experience) from four-year college or university. Master’s degree or MBA preferred. Minimum 8+ years of related experience, including 2+ years of people management.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to deliver efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
+ Data Management and Analytics
+ Excellent data management, manipulation, and analysis skills. Ability to create integrated data models from disparate sources. Understanding of relational databases. Highly skilled in dashboard design and development. Advanced Tableau skills are required. Proficiency in database technologies such as Snowflake or Microsoft SQL Server is preferred.
+ Requires basic knowledge of financial and statistical terms and principles.
+ Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex data sets. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires sophisticated analytical and quantitative skills.
+ Sophisticated skills in Microsoft Office Suite Products, particularly Excel. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
+ Exposure to ML/AI concepts preferred.
