At Brno's Thermo Fisher Scientific, we develop and manufacture innovative electron microscopes and spectrometers. They participate in the research of the ZIKA virus, HIV as well as in the microchip and material industries. Our work makes the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We are the largest production of electron microscopes, and we continue a more than 70-year-old tradition.

The Mission

The Data Science Team as part of the Operations Digital Innovation team pursues maximized adoption of BI / Data Science technologies unlocking new business value and efficiency, through digital intelligence and automation tools.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Learn about ODI – Data Science Team responsibilities, tools and daily activities.Identify areas for improvement and standardization and assist with the implementation.Detail the tools and dashboards we build and maintain, capturing technical details and the processes behind them. Collect tool usage statistics.Build flow diagrams to map the data sources our tools rely on - no prior expertise required, just the willingness to learn.Investigate and track any data inconsistencies we encounter and assist in developing mitigation strategies.Play a role in improving data quality by validating data accuracy, identifying gaps, and digging into the root causes of any issues.Support the team in making our processes even better - your fresh opinion and ideas are always welcome.

What We’re Looking For:

University studentAbility to work independently and collaboratively within the team.Good attention to detail, an inquisitive approach, and strong organizational skills.Familiarity with tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI.
