Job Description
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a crucial role in delivering business intelligence capabilities that support the information needs of both internal and external department stakeholders. You will be responsible for producing work products based on a variety of data sets, including education, post-secondary education, apprenticeship, finance, and census data. Your work will involve utilizing technology products such as SAP and Power BI to cater to the evolving technology landscape and the increasing demand for information.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate effectively with a team comprising in-house staff and contract resources.Analyze data and prepare information results.Gather and document requirements for information products.Design and construct information products.Capture business and technical metadata for information products.Gather requirements for control processes including schedule management, status reporting, issues, risk, and change management at the program level.Produce deliverables within specified quality standards and timelines.Define and perform quality assurance on business intelligence deliverables.Respond to ad-hoc information inquiries.Perform data analysis, data quality audits/reviews, statistical analysis, and data mining.Escalate issues and risks, as appropriate.Operate within a multi-vendor/staff environment.Essential Skills4 years of experience with Power BI, including articulating and translating technical language for non-technical customers both verbally and in writing.4 years of experience presenting data in queries, dashboards, and reports in a way that is easy to understand.Direct hands-on experience in designing, developing, and optimizing advanced Power BI solutions that transform regulated and complex datasets into actionable insights.4 years of experience planning, conducting, and analyzing findings from co-design workshops with service users.Additional Skills & Qualifications2 years of experience working with large government datasets.4 years of experience with PowerBI, PowerView, Microsoft SQL Reporting, and Analytical Services.2 years of experience in public sector procurement processes.Relevant post-secondary education in supply chain, procurement, business or a related field, including degrees, diplomas, and certificates (minimum 2-year diploma).Ability to collaborate and work with various stakeholders and design workshops with service users.Ability to interact and communicate professionally with a diverse group.Ability to think critically to select the most appropriate input data, modeling method, indicated variables, and techniques.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58.64 - $70.00/hr.
