We are seeking a skilled Business Development Officer to drive fundraising and strategic partnerships for a prominent non-government organization dedicated to media freedom and ethics in Papua New Guinea.

Role Overview

Fundraising: Identify and pursue potential funding sources, including government grants and corporate sponsorships. Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain partnerships with media outlets, educational institutions, and civil society organizations. Grant Proposal Writing: Prepare and submit compliant grant proposals within set timelines. Fundraising Events: Plan and execute community engagement initiatives to raise funds. Donor Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with existing and potential donors. Financial Sustainability: Implement strategies for enhancing financial sustainability through membership drives and revenue-generating activities. Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Executive Team on fundraising activities and outcomes.

Skills & Qualifications

Business Development: Proven experience in fundraising and business development, particularly in the non-profit sector. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Grant Writing: Experience in writing and managing grant proposals. Media Knowledge: Familiarity with the media landscape and regulatory environment in Papua New Guinea is advantageous. Teamwork: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Ethical Conduct: Commitment to ethical and transparent business development practices. Risk Assessment: Experience in assessing risks associated with fundraising activities. Database Management: Proficiency in managing membership databases, ensuring data integrity.

Education & Experience

Experience: Minimum of five years in fundraising and business development, especially in the non-profit sector.
