Business Development Manager - Reuters Events, Insurance
This full-time position is based in London with hybrid working available.

Reuters Events are looking for a Business Development Manager to sell across our insurance portfolio of conferences and events. Here, you'll play a critical role in partnering with an array of leading global brands and selling a range of sponsorship packages across our international event portfolio, with a particular focus on the US market.
Reuters Events combines Reuters' globally trusted brand, scale and editorial excellence with a leading portfolio of B2B events. We provide content-led conferences for professionals in a variety of specialized industry sectors including energy, pharmaceutical, automotive, insurance, finance and legal (to name a few!) to complement our extensive, in-depth business media content. We exist to deliver strategic business intelligence and foster the relationships that safeguards success at leading organisations worldwide.
About the Role
As a Business Development Manager at Reuters Events you will:
Work collaboratively with both production and sales stakeholders to sell tailored sponsorship packages to a variety of global brands.
Work as an individual contributor, driving revenue across the insurance portfolio, with a particular focus on events in the USA.
Work closely and collaborate with our team of conference producers to maximise the commercial success of our conferences and events.
Use your great command of the written word to both gauge what our clients actually need as part of their marketing strategies and deliver value propositions that are tailored to their specific business needs.
Be curious around changes in business markets. We’re looking for someone that enjoys learning how shifting market dynamics create challenges and opportunities for our clients, and how our events can help them navigate change and reach new audiences.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Business Development Manager, if you have:
Demonstrable B2B sales and new business development experience, ideally in an events, conference-led or publishing setting.
Excellent communication skills. We're looking for someone who's comfortable representing the Reuters brand when engaging with other industry-leading businesses. You'll be comfortable crafting engaging copy and written value propositions whilst building relationships with global C-level executives.
A collaborative attitude. We're team players at Reuters Events and are looking for someone who can succeed both individually and within a team-based environment.
The desire to progress and develop your commercial skills further. We have an excellent (uncapped!) commission scheme that rewards your achievements and are keen to grow and invest in our sales team.
The ability to adapt to changes in markets and articulate potential solutions to a range of stakeholders over the phone, in person and on video calls.
