Are you a dynamic and strategic leader with a passion for driving growth in the retail channel? GALLO is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager Lead-Retail to join our innovative team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee, develop, and execute sales plans, driving revenue and maximizing contributions in a large revenue-generating market. Your expertise will be critical in managing product sales through wholesale and distributor networks, leading a dedicated team of retail sales professionals across multiple states.

 

As our brand representative, you will foster strong business relationships, implementing sales techniques to boost GALLO products' presence and performance. Your strategic focus will be on identifying and maximizing the most significant opportunities, adapting to market dynamics, and ensuring alignment with GALLO’s premiumization efforts. You will collaborate closely with distributor management to execute annual sales plans, negotiate monthly objectives, and oversee the implementation of national promotions and programs.

You will play a crucial role in recruiting and training, ensuring a robust pipeline of future leaders. What You'll Need

Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of Gallo Winery sales, marketing, or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of wine or spirits sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 9 years of Gallo Winery sales, marketing, or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 10 years of wine or spirits sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire. Required to be 21 years of age or older. Required to obtain liquor license as required by state/locality. Required to travel by air and automobile up to 50% during the course of business. Required to see, taste, and smell wine and perform product tastings as part of job functions. Experience demonstrating strong leadership selling, time management, public speaking skills Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

 

How You'll Stand Out

Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience to include a prior rotation as a Business Development Manager, Business Intelligence Manager or Account Manager 3; OR Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of external alcohol sales experience to include retail experience. Direct managerial/supervisory experience with sales, retail, or on-premise employees (e.g. District Manager, Area Manager, State Manager, Field Marketing manager, etc.). Experience with selling or marketing Gallo products.

The Fine Print

The Company does not sponsor for employment-based visas for this position now or in the future. Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable. This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires regular travel within your assigned territory.
