Business Development Manager (Government Services)
Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Business Development Manager (Government Services) for a government consulting firm in the Washington D.C area. This person will own and grow our client's DOW (formerly DoD) footprint—focused on Army and/or Air Force—by shaping, capturing, and winning modernization and mission-support work across the services we offer (SETA/programmatic, cyber/RMF, cloud/DevSecOps, software/O&M, data/analytics, ITSM, PMO, HCM/L&D). Key Responsibilities • Market Focus & Account Plans: Build and execute FY account plans for 4–7 target organizations (e.g., PEO STRI/AFC/AFLCMC/MAJCOMs) • Capture Leadership: Drive Gate-0→3; own win themes, competitive positioning, teaming, staffing approach, PTW strategy, orals/demos. • Shaping & Positioning: Pre-RFP discovery, solution concept papers, MVP/prototype alignment with Akytech/partners. • Teaming: Structure prime/sub roles; negotiate NDAs/TAs; develop mutual pursuit calendars with OST/GLT/ProGov/NextEra and OEMs (AWS/Azure/ServiceNow/Salesforce). • Customer & Event Engagement: Plan travel to bases/PEOs/industry days; maintain live contact maps and call notes. • Internal Orchestration: Work with Proposal Ops, HR (incumbent capture/LOIs), Finance (PTW/BOE), Contracts (terms/OCI), Delivery (past-perf/case studies). • Governance & Hygiene: Keep Insightly/SharePoint current within 24 hours; drive median days-in-stage <14. Skills and Requirements • 7–8+ years in DoD/DOW BD & capture with documented annual wins ≥$50M TCV (prime or significant sub). • Army and/or Air Force relationships (PEOs/centers/wings/commands) and fluency in their acquisition rhythms. • Hands-on Shipley-style capture (or equivalent), L/M compliance, color reviews, and orals/demos leadership. • Experience aligning pursuits to SETA/Programmatics, T&E, cyber/RMF, cloud/DevSecOps, data/analytics, ITSM/PMO work. • Strong written/oral communication; executive presence with senior government and primes. • Ability to travel 25% for customer/partner engagement and events.
