About the role

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Business Development Manager is responsible for driving corporate and group revenue through strategic business development, account management, and market engagement. This role is ideal for a commercially minded sales professional who enjoys developing new business, managing key accounts, and representing a premium hospitality brand within the local market.

Identify, prospect and convert new corporate, group and extended stay business opportunities.

Build, manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring strong client relationships and long-term business retention.

Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through to contract negotiation, account onboarding and group management.

Prepare tailored proposals, negotiate commercial agreements and manage contracted accounts.

Conduct hotel site inspections, client presentations and familiarisation visits that showcase Hyatt House South Melbourne.

Represent the hotel at networking events, industry functions, trade shows and local business forums. This role requires occasional travel and attendance at events outside normal business hours.

Contribute to the hotel's annual sales plan, budgeting process and commercial initiatives.

Previous experience in hotel sales, business development or account management within the hospitality industry.

Strong commercial acumen with confidence negotiating rates and commercial agreements.

Highly organised with excellent time management and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
