Intertek’s Building Science Solutions (BSS) group is primarily focused on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.

What are we looking for?

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving strategic business development and sales for BSS and Laboratory Testing services, cultivating key client and industry relationships, supporting proposals and major pursuits, contributing to thought leadership and team development, and partnering with leadership to advance organizational goals in a compliant and professional manner.

Shift/Schedule: Typically Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM | This position will travel up to 50% of the time.

What you will do:

Provide business development, marketing, and sales efforts regarding BSS and Laboratory Testing services for the SE US RegionCoordinate effectively with architects, engineers, consultants, owners, developers, and operation unit (OU) Managers to develop BSS and Laboratory Testing ServicesProvide consistent and professional interaction and communication with clients and Intertek teamRepresent Intertek and contribute to knowledge base by speaking at lunch and learn, seminar, and trade show eventsAssist in preparing proposals, SOQ packages, and develop new business promptly to support the businessParticipate in training and management of building science staff to assist on promoting Intertek consulting and testing servicesLead efforts to land large opportunitiesParticipate in leadership activities, including planning, goal setting, standardization, process development, etc.Maintain high business and technical integrityAssist OU Managers and Director with strategic business development initiatives within the groupFollow and enforce safety and compliance requirements and company policiesDocument all leads, opportunities, quotes and orders in iConnect CRM

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

10+ years’ experience in building enclosure services10+ years’ experience in business developmentStrong knowledge of the construction processStrong knowledge of the Orlando/Tampa construction industry and trendsAbility to work independently on assigned tasksTechnical competence and ability to effectively communicate with clients, designers, contractors, and coworkers, both in writing and orallyAbility to develop and maintain good rapport with clients, designers, contractors, etc.Strong planning, time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet changing and strict deadlines/ budget restrictionsExperience with managing/working with staff, both technical and administrativeWillingness to travel 50% of the time or moreSound computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite). iConnect is requiredValid driver’s license and a clean driving record
