We are currently seeking a Business Development Intern for Summer Semester 2026 (May 18 – early Aug). This position is 100% remote from any US-based location. The application deadline is Feb 20, 2026.
The Business Development Summer Intern will work throughout the Environment and Infrastructure Business development organization to obtain hands on experience with the entire federal acquisition process. Tasks may include developing and executing capture strategy for science-focused opportunities, creating call plans and capabilities brief to government customers, working with scientists to quantify markets and outline marketing approach. Assists with compliance and tracking documentation. Gain knowledge of established business development processes and best practices and understanding of science focused government agencies such as NASA, NSF, and EPA.
Responsibilities Develop capabilities brief highlighting aspects of Battelle internal capabilitiesMaintain opportunity (Dynamics) database of opportunities and review for accuracySupport opportunity gate reviews for senior Battelle leadership to progress opportunities from identification through pursuit and proposalSubmit requests for CDA and Teaming AgreementsDevelop and execute call plans in partnership with BD professionalUse GovWin and BGov to research agency opportunitiesWork with MarCom to further develop E&I web and social media presenceSupports capture management activities with research analysis.Under the direction of senior BD staff, develop and execute capture strategy for science focused opportunitiesHelp BD team develop Artificial Intelligence approach to market intelligence and opportunity development programsKey Qualifications Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a science-related major.Must have at least two years of college coursework completed by the start of the internship.Experience with data managementStrong communication & organizational skillsBasic understanding of AI tools and technologiesMust be US CitizenPreferred Qualifications Understanding of organizations, business development, and marketing.Creative with an aptitude for technical understanding.Broad engineering or science understandingEnjoys working with people.Preparing You for Career Success
