JOB SUMMARY:NORC at the University of Chicago is currently seeking a Business Development and Support Associate (internally called Research Associate I) to join our Advanced Data Solutions Center supporting our business development activities and clients' experience with the NORC Data Enclave®.
Launched in 2006, the NORC Data Enclave® is the preferred solution for clients, analysts, and researchers to securely store, access, and analyze sensitive data. Enclave-based research informs a wide spectrum of public and private sector evidence-based decision-making, policies, publications, patents, and impactful outcomes that shape our world.
As part of the client support team, the Business Development and Support Associate will provide technical and operational support to clients and end-users by logging, triaging and prioritizing user requests based on contractual SLAs, troubleshooting and resolving user issues, monitoring progress and resolution times for active requests and coordinating with other NORC departments e.g., Statistics and Methodology, Engineering and Communications for request fulfillment.
The Business Development and Support Associate will work closely with the Director of Business Development to support and schedule client meetings, identify and update sales leads and opportunities in the appropriate platforms, summarize meetings and provide status updates, and contribute to the writing of technical proposals. They will work with the user support team lead to improve program operations, support client engagement and contribute to management activities across a diverse portfolio of projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Enter sales opportunities in appropriate tools, help to track opportunities, and update status
Schedule internal and client-facing meetings, attend and document meeting minutes
Liaise with internal experts in data science, engineering and security to assess our ability to complete project activities
Identify sales leads and work with the Business Development Director to follow through on pursuing the opportunity
Develop and implement work plans to help maintain business continuity across a wide array of projects
Evaluate and prioritize open Help Desk tickets
Research, document, and provide accurate and timely solutions to user problems
Effectively escalate and document all support calls for which resolution at level 2 is not possible
Maintain the call tracking system through the input of resolutions to issues and/or tracking issues that are escalated to a higher level
Acquire and maintain a highly competent knowledge of relevant products, current support policies, and methods of support delivery
Develop and implement Service Level Agreements and work to achieve established performance metrics
REQUIRED SKILLS:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Superior troubleshooting, customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
Sound knowledge of Help Desk software, and the general Help Desk processes
Ability to work independently, with little supervision
Ability to operate under a high pressure and fast paced environment
Ability to resolve problems by telephone and remote network management techniques
Candidate will preferably have experience with MS Windows, MS Office, Active Directory, SAS/Stata/SPSS/R, SQL and/or other statistical applications
Candidate will preferably have knowledge of IT Security frameworks and/or data and technology tools and platforms.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:The pay range for this position is $55,000 - $64,000.
