Key Purpose
To provide support to the business unit by:
Acting as a Product Owner between business and the Systems/IT department by breaking down features into user stories and ensuring that user stories are clearly defined and well understood Clarity in communication is an essential component of this function. Lead requirement gathering and story mapping workshops with stakeholders. Manage, refine and prioritise the product backlog to enable effective planning with the Scrum team. Taking ownership of the development process on behalf of the Business by actively participating in all Agile events to help the team achieve its goals. Under limited supervision undertakes specialist feasibility analysis, evaluations or business projects. Gives feedback on deliver plans and assists with impact analysis. May research and prepare reports on related subjects. Can move easily to understand different business units. Business Analyst Team Leader. Collaborate and Plan prioritized deliverables with the manager for Project work and Business As Usual items. Quality Assurance of all Business Analysis done to ensure correctness and completeness.

Analysis
Big picture and impact across users and systems. Understanding the current state and what needs to change. Not tunnel visioned. Solution orientated. High level and detail orientated. Challenging business (not being a scribe).
Quality
Comebacks and rework: To minimize the number of comebacks or rework required by the Developers through clearly articulating and communicating business specifications, using multiple channels (workshops, email etc.) to facilitate understanding. Development Support: To provide support during the development phase by being available for questions or clarification, and providing feedback to Development teams as appropriate. Guidance and advice to the business: To provide sound guidance and advice on planned changes to business by striving to clearly understand business needs and making considered recommendations as appropriate. Prod defects post implementation reviews. Process Diagrams: Ensuring that business needs are clearly documented by mapping changes to existing processes diagrams or developing new processes as required.
Agile Methodology
Design and validate the functional solution using Agile Methodology. This involves interpreting the product / functional requirements into Agile Epics and Stories. Plan Agile Sprints and Stories for the Sprint. Apply knowledge of the system, interfaces and dependencies to highlight integration aspects that must be considered. Identify a set of stakeholders that need to be involved in creating and validating the Agile Story Board by interview business and technical owners, as well as experienced members of the development team (Development Manager, Architect, Snr BA). Validate the Agile Epics, Stories and Test Basket with the identified stakeholders and obtain sign-off.

Education and Experience
Education:
Matric Degree / Diploma in IT(Essential). Business Analyst course (Essential).
Minimum Experience:
5 years Business Analyst experience (Essential). 1 year Insurance industry experience (Advantageous). 4 years UML experience (Essential). 4 years Screen Prototyping experience (Essential). 4 years Test and Defect Management Tools experience (Essential).EMPLOYMENT EQUITY
