Proclinical is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Analyst to support pharmaceutical research initiatives in the Boston area. This role focuses on evaluating, selecting, and implementing critical research systems such as Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN), Scientific Data Management Systems (SDMS), and research databases.

Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work closely with scientists, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that digital solutions align with scientific workflows and data management needs.
Skills & Requirements:
Background in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline; complementary experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Analysis is highly desirable. Proven experience in business analysis, with a focus on pharmaceutical research environments. Hands-on experience with systems like ELN, SDMS, IMS, or research databases. Familiarity with FAIR data principles and their application in drug discovery. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in business analysis methodologies and experience working with cross-functional teams across the US and EU. Solid understanding of scientific workflows and data management practices. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Attributes such as attention to detail, adaptability, collaboration, and a scientific mindset are essential for success in this role.
The Business Analyst III's responsibilities will be:
Collaborate with research scientists, IT teams, and stakeholders to gather and analyze business and technical requirements. Conduct interviews, workshops, and observations to understand scientific workflows and translate them into actionable user requirement specifications. Support the evaluation and selection of research systems, including market research, RFP preparation, vendor assessments, and fit-gap analyses. Assist in system implementation by working with project managers, system engineers, and validation teams to ensure accurate translation of requirements into digital solutions. Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT), develop test cases, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Act as a liaison between scientific users, IT teams, and external vendors, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Produce comprehensive documentation, including user stories, process flows, SOPs, and training materials. Support training sessions and change management initiatives to promote effective adoption of new systems.
