Business Analyst

The position requires executing initiatives supporting Inventory Planning through business, inventory and data analysis, supplier and distributor performance, and other supply chain and distribution related concepts. Building and maintaining healthy cross-functional relationships with Whole Foods Market and Amazon teams, stakeholders as well as 3rd party suppliers, and distributors is also central to the position. To be successful in this role, the candidate should have experience leveraging data from multiple sources for business analysis and report creation, analyzing imperfect data sets and recommending and initiating process improvements.
The ideal candidate must be highly organized, detail oriented, technical, possess the ability to learn/leverage new systems and business tools quickly, and clearly communicate complex concepts verbally and in writing.
Key job responsibilities
o Data Analysis
o Queries/provides raw data for ad-hoc analysis, and 1st level manipulation/structuring of same
o Takes lead for most basic ad-hoc data requests for Amazon Grocery and 3rd party stakeholders
o Ability to relate data quality and content to a vision for summarizing/reporting upon the data
o Ability to identify and implement process improvements based on data analysis
• Reporting & Related Information Flow
o Generates repeatable, periodic supply chain reporting
o 1st level investigation of report generation issues
o Maintenance and oversight of all sites related to data intake, manipulation, and report delivery
o Takes lead in establishment and testing of new data inputs, and researches any disruption or breakdown of same
o Creates and maintains reporting, process flow map and documentation of report generation processes
• Project Management Support
o Gathers project requirements, defines scope, identifies roles of key stakeholders, etc.
o Lead basic projects as appropriate, especially where related to information flow and reporting issues
o Advises on approach, methods, and implementation tactics for rolling out new initiatives
• WFM Product Team Relationship
o Positive/productive interaction with Amazon Grocery product teams as required
o Assesses requests and data needs of product teams in light of existing Supply Chain information and reporting infrastructure
o Establishes protocols, rules, boundaries with product teams that govern current and future interactions
o Effectively integrate Amazon Grocery product standards and initiatives to supply chain structure and goals
• 3rd Party Distribution Relationships
o Regular analysis of unfamiliar data and information from 3rd party Distributors to Whole Foods
o Ability to establish, nurture, and strengthen relationships with key 3rd party personnel
• Exclusive Brands Distribution & Logistics Support
o Provides logistics support across major operations for Center Store Exclusive Brands
o Review Exclusive Brands bid sheets, RFPs, and business reviews for suppliers, providing guidance to Senior Leaders on logistical analysis striving for efficiency and lower cost
o Consults with Sourcing & Product Development Team on most cost-effective Exclusive Brands distribution models to support Amazon Grocery and the supplier
o Utilizes the following tools for forecasting and demand analysis: Excel, Oracle Cloud, Everclear, Tableau, Power BI, and AI to run and analyze reports to support forecasting for inventory management.
o Provide data and work as a liaison for Amazon Grocery and UNFI buyers and with Exclusive Brands Teams and sub-teams.
o In partnership with Inventory Planning, drives improvement in key performance metrics such as order fill rate, on-time delivery, inventory turns, service levels at shelf, returns, and inventory levels vs. budget.
