Business Analyst

As a Business Analyst at Willis Towers Watson, you will be part of a highly collaborative scrum team with members on different continents. This is an integral role in product development by ensuring the organization’s needs are articulated in the user story acceptance criteria consumed by the Agile Scrum Team. In this role you will practice fundamentals of requirements gathering, system conceptual design, and scope definition. You will be responsible in facilitating the shared understanding of business processes and articulating this in user scenario driven user stories. You will be assisting the product owner by writing and defining the acceptance criteria for the user stories included in the backlog. 

Additionally, you will assist in conducting functional and usability testing to ensure that the Agile Scrum Team’s deliverable meet the business requirements and needs.This role works with Willis Towers Watson’s proprietary and/or industry-leading systems and applications and ensures that these are designed and built according to agreed-upon technical specifications and quality standards. The candidate will work Engage which enables clients and colleagues to efficiently launch employee surveys.

The Role

Experience in conducting and coordinating product, market, operational research that supports strategic business planning within various stakeholder groups Strive to effectively communicate your findings through empathetic and thoughtful analysis.  Comfortable working remotely with a global team and being part of a bigger product team Works closely with Product Managers/Product Owners to stay connected to the needs of the users in order to enable them to articulate the business scenarios As a key member of a scrum team(s), responsible for continuously grooming the backlog and working directly with Engineering, QA, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Architecture and Program team to facilitate software development and remove roadblocks Works closely with a variety of senior technical team members including Engineering Leads and Managers, and Enterprise architects to organize needs and requirements.  Incorporating feedback from Engineering, Architects and Product Managers, taking into consideration dependencies and incremental development goals Participate in all sprint ceremonies, and lead grooming/backlog refinement meetings  Supports the team and answers inquires during production support Communicates the technical needs of end users, conducts initial requirement walk-throughs with scrum teams, clarifies requirements on a daily basis through each sprint, works directly with all members of the Scrum Team with close consideration of cross-domain topics Performs User Acceptance Testing (UAT), where applicable Use trusted methods – Story mapping, user stories, acceptance criteria 3 - 5 years of Business Analysis experience, with relevant experience on ground-up software developmentStrong business analysis, requirements gathering, and critical thinking skills, with ability to teach and guide more junior BAs to grow relevant skillsStrong understanding of SDLC's, both waterfall and agile methods / models, with ability to evaluate enhancements in our product processes and how-tosDemonstrated ability to work remotely and virtually from stakeholders, while maintaining clear communications and meeting work expectations Demonstrated ability in multi-tasking, which includes ability to showcase cross-functional competencies to successfully support the scrum team needsKnowledge and passion in evaluating, testing and recommending new opportunities for enhancing our software, hardware and IT processes.Solid verbal and written communication skills, which includes facilitating scrum team discussions to explain the business requirements and functional specifications to developers and testersContribute to and maintain product backlog and roadmap that reflects corrects prioritization and as necessary be able to decompose items into consumable stories for the scrum teamExperience in the Human Resource domain is preferred, but not requiredFamiliarity with enterprise solutions and data/database conceptsLiaises with internal and external clients for the analysis and definition of the business and system requirements, recommends solution together with the scrum team.Leads backlog refinement calls, sprint planning, release planning, sprint reviews or demos and actively participates in other Scrum Ceremonies.Self-organizes and applies cross-functional competencies to create high-value products.Ability to analyze, interpret and review test reports, results, data to help team with planning, including the communication of risks to team, leads, managementBasic understanding and/or proven approaches on effort estimation, story mapping, design thinking
