As opposed to , the planner should be able and willing to take on additional project-based tasks to help drive FC costs down through such deep dives.
The Labor Planner may influence customers, stakeholders, peers and/or processes. In addition to working with their site(s), the Labor Planner works cross-functionally with other support teams such as S&OP, Finance, HR, Quality, and PE as they take on additional tasks outside of their immediate role. It is very important for the Labor Planner to take advantage of the new collaboration time with these teams and begin to build relationships with each of their business partners in order to gain the knowledge needed to manage up and persuade Amazon leaders at higher levels. This includes proactively understanding the key operational challenges of different sites and leveraging that knowledge to draw the best decisions for the sites and the network.
The Labor Planner is an advocate of centralization and continuously improves upon the process. The planner tracks their sites' barriers as well as bottlenecks within the weekly cadence and works to improve where necessary and able. They can independently dive deep and discover inefficiencies and/or inconsistencies.
