Job Description
Job Summary
The Bursar Service Representative, under general supervision, accepts monetary transactions in person for payments on accounts or for departmental deposits from the campus community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Maintains custody of cash, checks, and credit/debit card receipts and correctly balances transactions at the end of the day. Ensures handling of accepted monetary transactions is in compliance with established Cash Handling policies and procedures.
+ Prepares daily cash reconciliations, summary reports, and departmental reports from various systems. Assists Cashiers with research and reconciliation when out of balance at the end of the day.
+ Submits reports and transactions to Accounting and submits deposit amounts to the University. Audits Petty Cash forms for compliance and compiles requests for reimbursement to the petty cash fund.
+ Participates in implementing new or updated processes and systems, and testing system update patches.
+ Manages and maintains the receipt book log for accuracy and accountability. Produces a monthly database spreadsheet to management indicating usage, assignments, and compliance for each receipt book logged.
+ Trains new and existing staff and student workers on procedures and policies. Counsels and advises staff on procedural issues.

Minimum Requirements
+ Education – High school diploma.
+ Experience – Two years of related experience.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
+ Word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to:
+ Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Work accurately and quickly in cash and monetary processes.
Licensing / Professional Certification – None.

Salary: $14.43/hourly
