Role summary:
Multi-Skilled Technician (Tech) is responsible you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks in a manufacturing environment and will report to the on-site Technical Lead. This position belongs to the Corporate Real Estate Services function of the FMCG’s industry JLL client, to be based in Durban, South Africa.
What this job involves:
As a Multi-Skilled Technician, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks in a manufacturing environment. Your primary duties will include:
Perform predictive, conductive, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks in line with JLL and client SOPs, EOPs, SSOWs, and playbooks.Assist with safety access and permits to work, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.Oversee contractors' work, ensuring quality and adherence to safety standards.Provide site technical knowledge and support to the team and clients.Complete work orders accurately and on time using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Perform maintenance and repairs in the following areas:Electrical: Maintain and repair electrical components and equipmentMechanical: Check equipment and operating systems, perform preventive maintenancePlumbing: Maintain waste water systems, perform patch repairsPainting: Apply paint, stain, and other finishes to property walls, ceilings, and furnitureCarpentry: Perform basic carpentry tasks as requiredConduct routine site inspections to ensure all building processes and best practices are implemented and maintained.Respond to emergency calls and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner.Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.Collaborate with the Facilities Coordinator to ensure smooth operation of all facility services.Required Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environmentStrong technical skills in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting, and carpentryExperience with preventive and corrective maintenance proceduresFamiliarity with CMMS systems and work order managementUnderstanding of health and safety regulations in an industrial settingStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication skills in English, both verbal and writtenAbility to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, and blueprintsPreferred Qualifications:
Relevant trade certifications (e.g., electrical, mechanical, plumbing)Experience in FMCG manufacturing environmentsKnowledge of energy management systems and practicesFamiliarity with ISO standards and quality management systemsSpecific Skills Needed:
Proficiency in using various hand and power toolsAbility to work at heights and in confined spacesStrong organizational and time management skillsFlexibility to work shifts, weekends, and respond to emergency calls as neededBasic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suiteLocation:
