Building Information Modeling (BIM) & Space Specialist + Job Number: 25221 + Functional Area: Construction Project Management + Department: Campus Planning + School Area: Office of Executive Vice President + Pay Range Minimum: $58,450 + Pay Range Maximum: $79,200 + Employment Type: Full-Time + Employment Category: Exempt + Visa Sponsorship Available: No + Schedule: + Pay Grade: 6 Email a Friend Save Save Apply Now Posting Description BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING (BIM) & SPACE SPECIALIST, Office of Campus Planning (OCP), will conduct continual field audits, covering 200+ buildings and 14M+ square feet, to maintain accurate floor plans and room uses to support MIT’s space accounting system; conduct as-needed audits to support updates of other data sets managed by FIS; translate construction drawings for capital projects, renovations, and space changes, ensuring alignment with as-built conditions in the field; review AEC drawings from capital and renovation projects in order to build space accounting floor plans; collaborate with the BIM/CAD Administrator during project phases; create 2D and 3D floorplans using BIM and CAD software; and provide CAD drafting and GIS support for various FIS data sets. Job Requirements REQUIRED: A minimum of three years of related experience; knowledge of ESRI software; experience using AutoCAD and BIM software in a facilities production environment; familiarity with architectural and engineering terminology and experience working with architectural and construction drawings; understanding of the design and construction process; demonstrated organizational and time management skills; strong communications and organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage data sets in a GIS environment, take field measurements and translate into CAD/BIM or other design software, handle requests and people with diplomacy and interact effectively with a diverse group of customers; read and interpret (architectural, mechanical, electrical) drawings; and work independently and function effectively within a team-oriented environment. PREFFERED: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, project management or related field; two to three years of practical experience in AutoCAD/BIM technology; knowledge of ArcGIS Pro.
