**Job Summary**
**Building Access and Control Technicians**
Perform entry-level locksmith tasks and assist in resolving basic lock and key service requests. Support the installation, operation, and maintenance of advanced computer-based security and CCTV systems. Help with campus-wide security systems that detect intrusion alarms, fire alarms, emergency phones, elevator emergencies, and card access. Assist in preparing resources and tools for routine tasks and participate in training to develop proficiency in electronic security systems and safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance and repair schedules under supervision. Closely adhere to industry and university best practices and safety requirements.

**Responsibilities**
**Building Access and Control Technician, I:**
Perform entry-level locksmith tasks and assist in resolving basic lock and key service requests. Support the installation, operation, and maintenance of advanced computer-based security and CCTV systems. Help with campus-wide security systems that detect intrusion alarms, fire alarms, emergency phones, elevator emergencies, and card access. Assist in preparing resources and tools for routine tasks and participate in training to develop proficiency in electronic security systems and safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance and repair schedules under supervision. Closely adhere to industry and university best practices and safety requirements.
Requires little to no related experience.
This is an Entry-Level position in the Support track.

**Building Access and Control Technician, II:**
Independently perform locksmith services and support advanced electronic security systems. Install, operate, and maintain computerized security and CCTV systems. Collaborate with campus departments to evaluate and implement security, card access, fire, and CCTV systems to meet University standards. Assist in programming host computers and microprocessors, ensuring proper operation of hardware, software, and network security. Use electronic test equipment to evaluate system functionality and troubleshoot issues. Provide recommendations for system improvements and ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities. Closely adhere to industry and university best practices and safety requirements.
Requires at least 1 year of related experience.
This is an Intermediate Level position in the Support track.

Manage complex locksmith tasks and lead the design, installation, and maintenance of advanced security systems. Engineer and program security, fire, and CCTV systems in collaboration with campus departments. Select and procure system hardware and components to meet project schedules. Fabricate custom electronic circuits or assemblies and housings for specialized applications. Supervise programming of host computers and microprocessors, ensuring all security protocols are operational. Train other technicians and operators, provide work direction, and oversee compliance with preventative maintenance schedules. Closely adhere to industry and university best practices and safety requirements.
Requires 3+ years of related experience.
This is an Skilled Level position in the Support track.
