BU R&D Lead, SEA

**Job Description**
The R&D BU Lead SEA is a senior member of the SEA leadership team, developing R&D strategies and ensuring that technical, scientific and business programs are successfully delivered and that resources are effectively managed. He or she will translate business needs into robust research & development strategies and lead the team to utilize technology to deliver consumer-centric and competitively advantaged products.
The R&D BU Lead SEA manages a multi-category portfolio of ca $1.3bn, leads a team of about 40 product developers & heads up an R&D multi-functional Leadership Team (including central functions like Packaging, Quality & Food Safety, Scientific Affairs & Regulatory Affairs and Consumer Science)
The R&D BU Lead SEA will use influencing skills to partner with senior regional business and central function leaders communicating the impact and benefits of research & development. He or she will help creating a culture of collaboration across the global community, identifying and applying best practices and ways of working and protect intellectual property to build competitive advantage.

+ Responsible for the development and execution of multi-category R&D technical programs - for the categories Biscuit & Baked Snacks, Chocolate, Powdered Beverages, Meals, Gum and Candy - against business units and (global) functional plans. These programs span from growth, productivity, quality improvements to brand maintenance.
+ Providing overall direction and leadership for Innovation Excellence in the SEA BU, within the framework of MDLZ policies and procedures and sponsor the implementation of various program to improve innovation capabilities such as Agile, Test & Learn, portfolio management.
+ Partnering with the SEA BU President and Leadership Team to develop and deliver strategic plan imperatives, driving annual contract delivery, improving BU team engagement and helping drive integration of existing and future operational units.
+ Successfully discovering new science and technology, using internal expertise and external partners to accelerate innovation and efficiency, esp. for the product categories where SEA is leading the way for the rest of AMEA, i.e. Powdered Beverages & Meals.
+ Building a balanced project portfolio to deliver against financial targets and manage resources effectively.
+ Representing the SEA R&D function in the AMEA R&D LT and in Global Category Teams to ensure SEA expertise, insights and needs are built into global program off ramps.
+ Developing programs/technologies to address SEA business needs, and coach & support direct staff and global platform teams to deliver both short term and long-term initiatives for the SEA BU.
+ Determining needs and negotiate resources to overcome existing and possible technology or capacity barriers required to deliver company results.
