Responsibilities

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Arizona is seeking an academic breast pathologist with a commitment to clinical service, education and research interest to work in a large group practice setting. Outstanding diagnostic and communication skills, as well as the drive for service excellence are necessary. The ideal candidate will have expertise and/or experience in breast pathology either by having a breast pathology fellowship or having documented breast subspecialty sign out for at least 2-3 years. Experience interpreting fluorescence in situ hybridization assays is desirable as well as additional interests/skills in other surgical pathology subspecialties. 

The selected candidate will join a group of 25 anatomic pathologists in a department of over 40 physicians and scientists. The group of anatomic pathologists have diverse expertise and interests in all subspecialties of anatomic pathology as well as scholarly activities, including grant funded research and teaching in the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in Arizona. This position includes an academic appointment with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Applicants from any academic rank are encouraged to apply.



Qualifications

Board certification in Anatomic Pathology is required. The candidate will have either completed or be completing a Breast fellowship or have documented breast subspecialty sign out for a minimum of 2 years. A track record of academic productivity as well as collaborations with clinicians and basic researchers is preferred.
