Role Overview:
Rosewood Matakauri is seeking an experienced and dedicated Breakfast Chef to join our culinary team. In this role, you will craft elegant, high-quality breakfast dishes that reflect the calibre of the Rosewood brand and showcase the best of seasonal, local New Zealand produce. You will play a key part in ensuring our guests begin their day with an unforgettable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and execute a refined breakfast menu featuring both classic and innovative offerings.
Ensure consistency, presentation, flavour, and timing meet Rosewood Matakauri’s luxury standards.
Work efficiently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail in a high-performing kitchen.
Collaborate with the culinary team on seasonal updates, specialty items, and enhancements.
Uphold strict standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen organisation.
Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a chef, ideally within luxury lodges, boutique hotels, or high-end dining environments.
Strong understanding of breakfast cuisine, contemporary techniques, and elegant presentation.
Passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to crafting memorable guest experiences.
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and during peak seasons.
Collaborative team approach with excellent communication skills.
