What's in it for you:
This position is responsible for brazing commercial HVAC units using a handheld blowtorch in a manufacturing environment.Perform a variety of tasks as assigned in conjunction with brazing of Trane products.Tasks may vary by work area and work assignments may change based on business demands.Safely perform high-level repetitive work to quality standards in a manufacturing environment.Expected Shift Hours: Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm.
What you will do:
Perform repetitive progressive line assembly of parts, and sub-assemblies on any line within the plant, in accordance with predetermined DFT methods and sequences.
Tasks can include but are not limited to: brazing, soldering, operating machines and presses, hanging and unhanging parts, and performing quality checks and tests.
Read, understand, and apply method sheets and assembly diagrams, in addition to following verbal (written and oral) directions.
Use methods of perception/ senses (sight, hearing, smell) to detect quality defects and unsafe conditions.
Be knowledgeable, follow, and understand all applicable safety rules and procedures.
Read print drawings to determine dimensions, design, and materials for construction.
Operate power pneumatic and hand tools required for performing job duties.
Effectively use measuring devices such as tape measures and levels.
Load and unload units onto conveyors and carts.
Read, learn and follow OMSs for construction.
Maintain and inspect tools and equipment, and create work orders for tools/equipment to be repaired as needed.
Supports the QMS by delivering quality products and services and meeting quality objectives.
Works to consistently meet and exceed customer requirements.
Continuously strives for and participates in operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Work in a team environment and assist co-workers in other areas as needed/directed.
Perform general housekeeping of the work area.
Suggest process improvement ideas.
All other duties as assigned by the supervisor/team leader.
What you will bring:
One (1) year in manufacturing experience preferred.
Familiar with and ability to utilize all hand and power tools including wrenches, sockets, hammers, tape measures, crimpers, cutters, and steel banding.
Experience operating fork trucks and hoists preferred.
Knowledgeable of and able to utilize computer systems.
Ability to identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems.
Has the knowledge and ability to apply basic math skills.
Commitment to performing quality work.
Willingness to learn all tasks required to perform the job.
Basic mechanical aptitude to use equipment and maintain general understanding of business process.
Ability to work within a team.
Ability to perform work in a variety of environments (Examples: on scaffolding, mobile stairs, scissor lifts, in confined areas, etc).
Knowledge of and willingness to comply with all general work rules, policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and procedures.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
Sit or stand for the majority of a normal workday.
Ability to reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as required to work with equipment.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally. Mobility within the work facility.
