The Amazon Music Brand Design Team is looking for a versatile and passionate Brand Strategist to join our Brand Strategy team.
Key job responsibilities
• Collaborate with creative, strategy, and production teams to develop creative that is both engaging and aligned with our brand guidelines.
• Support development of creative briefs that inspire and inform big ideas, from macro-level brand briefs to targeted/tactical briefs to guide marketing campaigns, PR events, and/or channel needs
• Collaborate with the Amazon Music Creative Studio and Brand Marketing teams, and at times agency partners, to ensure strategic alignment of creative executions and marketing activations against the brand framework/briefs
• Support development of workshops to dive deep on customer, category, cultural insights, and short-and long-term business goals with partners such as product, go-to-market, insights, and design
• Conduct research on consumer insights, trends, and cultural moments to inform strategy and creative output.
• Partner with Brand Design team members to develop and publish brand guidance to the Amazon Music Brand Portal, and to design and refine processes that capture and scale the team’s best practices
• Identify and implement new mechanisms to support efficiencies and speed for a growing team
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects with quick turnarounds, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Receive and incorporate feedback to improve creative concepts while keeping the overall strategy in mind.
A day in the life
The successful candidate will support brand & creative strategy, brand governance, naming, messaging, and communications development for our brand, content franchises, and supporting elements, to meet and deliver on the needs of customers. This includes developing/evolving the strategic frameworks for the creative execution of our evolving brand experience, in addition to operating as a steward for our key brand elements (e.g. brand pillars, positioning, purpose, personality, etc.). You will be a part of the Global Brand Design Team overall, an organization devoted to defining and driving brand and creative excellence for Amazon Music.
About the team
The Brand Strategy Team is responsible for setting the standards for Amazon Music’s brand strategy and positioning and visual brand expression through mechanisms and guidelines that support consistency and best practices across our brand experience. We are also the team responsible for designing campaigns in partnership with the Amazon Music Creative Studio, and developing style guides and graphic standards, self-service tools and other core brand support mechanisms for the Amazon Music brand. We collaborate regularly with cross-channel creatives and business stakeholders with the primary objective of creating bar-raising design solutions that express the Amazon Music brand’s core traits and tenets.
Basic Qualifications
- • 2+ years of experience working in a creative, content, or strategy role
- • Strong writing and storytelling skills
- • Ability to stay with the work to the finish line — bringing the same enthusiasm on the first round, or the fifth.
- • Experience working collaboratively and flexibly within a fast-paced environment.
- • Knowledge of Gen Z culture, trends, and social media behavior.
- • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas
- • A proactive mindset, capable of multitasking and managing a variety of projects with short deadlines, often within environments of ambiguity
- • Consistently informed about industry-relevant AI trends, tools, and applications.
- • Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- • Experience working with consumer brands or in a creative agency.
- • Interest or experience in music, entertainment and/ or their relationship with culture
- • Knowledge of digital tools for content creation and strategy (e.g., Adobe Suite, Figma, or similar tools)
- • Proficiency in generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, MidJourney, Runway, DALL·E, or similar platforms.
