Job Description

This position reports to the Finance Director and is based in Hoofddorp with a flexible 3/2 working model.

The Brand Finance Manager (BFM) is the “CFO” for the Business Unit(s) and partner for the Business Unit Director(s). You are responsible for the design and careful management of the financial administration organization relating to the Business Unit(s). You do this in such a way that the management periodically and at any time has insight and a reliable overview of the financial results of the Business Unit(s).

Your role at AbbVie

The BFM guides and influences commercial stakeholders in translating the financial plan into a task-oriented and output-oriented tactical plan for the Business Uni(s). Sales, profitability, R.O.I and weekly and monthly reports for the departments are leading.

You provide insight to the FD/Business Unit Director(s). You will make proposals for cost, efficiency and internal control improvements and actively help to implement this. The result of the total work of your brand involvement and finance department leads to financial transparency in financial results and an unqualified auditor's report.
 

Highlighted Responsibilities:

Provide commercial challenge and reasoning for the portfolio strategy and decision making to ensure resources are deployed, and actions taken, in a way which maximizes benefit for AbbVie and our stakeholdersIn cooperation with Commercial Directors and Business Unit Managers, develop Sales and Expense planning benchmarks and forecastsShare the story behind reports with Commercial Directors and their teams, validating the logic of assumptions, challenging them where needed and ensure alignment with Region and Area counterpartsPrepare commercial models and ensure data integrity in all planning cyclesYou manage brand P&Ls and maintain an overview of budget and spending, providing financial and commercial input to support the maximization of investment opportunitiesSupport and educate commercial departments in managing budgets and targets and encourage ownershipInvestigate opportunities and risks and present to the Commercial director and their teamsIdentify important external developments and trends within the relevant fieldShow thought leadership on business finance topics within the broader AbbVie finance community and leverages upon maturity to drive the AbbVie finance culture
Qualifications

 

Experience of working in Finance roles in a similar industry, such as:Financial Planning, analysis, consolidationFinancial auditBusiness partnering and project managementProven experience with financial modeling: translating business cases and scenarios into financial modeling, top to bottom P&L line.Track record of using initiative, drive and questioning to improve the performance of professional teams.Ability to translate complex market dynamics into simple stories and clear executive explanation for upper management.Willingness to learn new concepts and ways of working (growth mindset).Advanced computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
