In this dynamic role, you will support the Brand Comms Manager to design and develop Sainsbury’s marketing communications for broadcast and brand campaigns across all customer touchpoints including TV, Press, Radio, Outdoor, Social, and Display.

What you'll do

You’ll support the delivery of our food strategy in taking propositions generated by the planning and propositions teams and turning these into engaging best in class campaigns that deliver on objectives. Lead the design, delivery and execution of our marketing campaigns through all channels. Write engaging briefs that inspire our creative and media agencies to deliver best in class work and brief internal teams to further bring the campaign to life in owned channels. Evaluate and manage the development of creative work and media plans with agencies to a high level across the right marketing channels. Ensure campaigns have clear KPIs, react and adapt to performance to optimise campaigns while live, and carry out the post campaign analysis to share learnings with relevant teams for future campaigns. Clearly communicate and engage relevant stakeholders to gain approvals and buy in. Manage campaign budgets both in the planning and reporting of campaign spend. Keep abreast of all legislation and regulations and to ensure all broadcasting communications adhere. Make sure all our advertising is legal, decent and honest and in line with our corporate values.

Who you are 

You are a creative and detail-oriented professional with a passion for brand marketing and driving customer engagement through compelling communications. With a sound understanding of marketing principles (preferably within the retail sector) and the end-to-end process for a marketing campaign from proposition to deployment. You have knowledge of the communication channels available and media mixes, and how to best communicate in them. Show the ability to make decisions and recommendations on the best media mix to deliver campaigns. You excel in collaborating with key stakeholders, agencies, and own channel teams to deliver impactful campaigns that resonate with our customers.  You’re a self-motivated problem solver who can operate in a fast-paced environment being comfortable under pressure. Your strong project management skills, creative judgement, and commitment to delivering best in class communications are executed efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of our marketing strategies.

Essential criteria 

Brand Strategy Expertise: Proven experience in developing and executing brand comms.

Customer and Commercial Focus: Strong understanding of customer behaviour and commercial drivers, with the ability to align brand activity to business objectives.

Insight-Driven Decision Making: Experience using customer insights and real-time data to inform brand strategy, anticipate risks, and optimise opportunities.

Communication and Stakeholder Relationships: Experience in retail processes and aligning brand communication strategies.
