Job Title: Brake Press Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Brake Press Operator to join our team, where you will play an essential role in operating machinery and ensuring high-quality production. You will collaborate with profile engineers and team leaders, adhering to safety standards, and contributing to a productive work environment.

Work Environment

The role is based on an afternoon shift from 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM, with a $2.50 premium for the shift. You will work in a large, clean shop with numerous machines running. Our facility includes a total building size accommodating 50 to 60 people, with 25 on the floor. The team comprises 12 mechanic welders, 5 in equipment, an electrician, a plumber, a shipper, and 3 group leaders.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe work environment by complying with safety standards.Collaborate with profile engineers and team leaders to identify and resolve problems.Conduct scheduled machine maintenance and cleaning.Load and off-load stainless and mild steel components using overhead cranes and forklifts.Operate machinery with confidence, understanding machine setup including program retrieval, and materials.Monitor operations and perform quality checks, adjusting machinery as necessary.Troubleshoot machines during operations.Operate overhead cranes, tape measures, calipers, and hand tools.Work in other departments or perform other duties if required.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in press brake, machine operation, and machine operating.Experience with punch press and sheet metal.Ability to use a tape measure, calipers, and hand tools.Troubleshooting skills with experience in TruTOPS and TruTOPS Boost.Forklift certification is advantageous.Experience in steel manufacturing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Fluent in both written and spoken English.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Previous experience working within the steel industry is desirable.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.50 - $34.50/hr.
