Position Overview
Uassist.ME is seeking a detail-driven Bookkeeping Assistant with proven experience in the real estate industry to support our client. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in accounting and bookkeeping for property management, development, or real estate investment. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month- and year-end closings, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
+ Perform monthly reconciliations for:
+ Bank accounts
+ Escrow accounts
+ Credit cards
+ Accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable
+ Intercompany balances
+ Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
+ Maintain and review general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness.
+ Identify and resolve variances or discrepancies in financial data.
+ Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
+ Organize documentation and coordinate with external tax preparers for corporate tax filings.
+ Provide reconciliations and schedules to support audits.
+ Collaborate with operations and other departments to ensure correct expense coding and cost allocations.
+ Uphold compliance with internal controls, company policies, and GAAP.
Qualifications & Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience in real estate (property management, development, or investment).
+ Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
+ Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Yardi, AppFolio, or similar).
+ Strong Excel skills and familiarity with reporting tools.
+ Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience working remotely.
+ High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
