Description We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper to manage the daily financial operations of a non-profit organization in Plainview, New York. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proficient in QuickBooks, and skilled in handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. Responsibilities: • Accurately record financial transactions, including payments and expenses, in QuickBooks. • Process invoices and ensure timely payment of bills. • Apply incoming cash to outstanding accounts and maintain accurate records. • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy. • Monitor and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Prepare financial reports and summaries to support organizational decision-making. • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards. • Assist in maintaining organized and up-to-date financial documentation. • Collaborate with team members to address any discrepancies or financial issues. Requirements • Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within a non-profit organization. • Proficiency with QuickBooks software and related accounting tools. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members. • Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements.
