Bone Density Technologist

This position offers up to $50,000 in signing bonus for external applicants as well as internal per diem to full time conversions!
Job Summary:
Provides quality scans and patient care in a defined imaging service. Prepares scans and finished reports for the radiologist to review.
Education/Licensure:
Licensed Radiologic Technologist credentialed from New York Department of Health’s Bureau of Environmental Radiation Protection obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
Required: Certification through the International Society for Clinical Densitometry
Preferred: Completed Registry in Bone Density from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Essential Functions:
+ Assists in maintaining a clean, safe and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, etc.
+ Performs daily QA.
+ Ensures patient is adequately prepared for procedure
+ Adept at working within the Bone Density software
+ Selects appropriate scanning parameters for each exam
+ Obtains and utilizes relevant patient data
+ Positions patients and selects anatomical and technical parameters accurately
+ Ensures prompt submission and high-quality of all images and reports to radiologist and subsequent ordering physician
+ Performs weekly QC, documenting and charting scanner variations
+ Database maintenance and backup
+ Remain current with official positions of the ISCD, including the most recent information on the available treatments for osteoporosis and risk factor reduction
+ Maintain working knowledge of the ICD 10 codes and insurance reimbursement
+ All Bone Density Technologists must perform a precision study once proficiency is obtained
