Job Description
The BOM Analyst will play a pivotal role in a high-priority, company-wide initiative to convert product formulas across the entire portfolio to natural color ingredients. This is a large-scale, fast-paced program spanning multiple brands and product lines, requiring the analyst to create and manage a high volume of new raw material parts, finished good BOMs, and engineering change orders (ECOs/ECNs) with speed and accuracy. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
ResponsibilitiesCreate and set up new raw material parts in the item master system for natural color ingredients replacing synthetic dyes and artificial colorants.Ensure all new items are fully configured with accurate attributes.Coordinate with Quality and R&D to validate specifications prior to part creation.Maintain data integrity and naming convention standards across all newly created items.Create BOM Kick-off document that contains all information required to build the final BOM.Build new formulation BOMs and update existing BOMs to reflect natural color substitutions across all affected SKUs.Validate BOM accuracy against approved BOM Kickoff documents reviewed by team.Perform ongoing data cleanup throughout the conversion process.Ensure BOM effectivity dates, quantities, and component relationships are correctly captured for each conversion.Perform BOM audits to confirm all converted products are fully updated and no legacy synthetic color components remain active.Initiate, track, and manage a high volume of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) related to the natural colors conversion program.Monitor change order queues to ensure timely progression through each approval stage and escalate bottlenecks as needed.Serve as the central point of contact for BOM and change order status across the natural colors program.Participate in regularly scheduled project meetings providing updates on BOM completions, open change orders, and anything else that requires updates.Flag and resolve discrepancies between approved BOM Kick Off doc and system data in a timely manner.Generate and distribute BOM Explosion reports of every product to all contract manufacturers upon BOM approval, providing full visibility into the multi-level component structure required for production.Generate regular status reports for program leadership showing completion rates by brand, product line, or phase.Document standard operating procedures for the BOM and change order workflows established during this initiative.Essential Skills3+ years of experience in BOM management, master data management, item master administration, or a related data/operations role.Demonstrated experience creating and managing a high volume of parts, BOMs, and change orders in an ERP or PLM system (e.g., Oracle EBS, SAP, Agile, Arena).Strong understanding of BOM structures, component relationships, and effectivity management.Proven ability to manage large workloads with competing deadlines while maintaining high data accuracy.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Comfortable working cross-functionally with R&D, Packaging, Quality, PM, and Supply Chain teams.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in CPG, food & beverage, personal care, or a regulated industry where formula and ingredient management is central to operations.Experience supporting a large-scale, portfolio-wide product conversion or reformulation program.Knowledge of change management workflows and approval routing in PLM (Autodesk or Agile) or ERP (Oracle or NetSuite) environments.Proficiency in Excel or similar tools for program tracking and reporting.Work Environment
The position operates in an office environment located in Moosic, PA, with working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. This role offers significant remote work flexibility, requiring on-site presence one day a week. The preferred schedule includes working from home on Mondays and Fridays and being in the office from Tuesday to Thursday. The role involves heavy data management and requires collaboration with cross-functional teams.
