A Boiler Plant Room Operator is responsible for the efficient operation, inspection, and maintenance of the hotel’s boiler and heating systems to ensure consistent and safe energy supply, providing an exceptional Guest and Member experience.

What will I be doing?

As a Boiler Plant Room Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the hotel’s boiler and related mechanical equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted service. You will monitor systems, perform routine maintenance, and respond to repair needs to maintain optimal performance. Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

·       Operating and monitoring boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, and other equipment in the plant room

·       Conducting regular inspections to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently

·       Recording readings, temperatures, and pressures to assess and optimize system performance

·       Performing routine and preventative maintenance on boiler equipment and associated systems

·       Identifying and reporting potential issues, troubleshooting, and performing basic repairs as needed

·       Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, including proper handling of hazardous materials

·       Assisting with special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Engineer

What are we looking for?

A successful Boiler Plant Room Operator will demonstrate the following attributes, skills, and values:

·       TVET Level II or III Certificate in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Systems, or Boiler Operation 

·       Strong technical knowledge of boiler operations, heating systems, and mechanical equipment

·       Positive attitude and strong problem-solving abilities

·       Commitment to delivering a high level of guest service

·       Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently

·       Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

·       Previous experience in boiler operation or a related field, especially within a hospitality environment

·       Relevant certifications in boiler operation, HVAC, or mechanical systems

·       Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks
