Job Summary: \n

The employee is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of equipment, inclusive of manufacturing equipment, warehouse equipment, shop and plant equipment. This also includes operating, maintaining, and repairing boilers and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The operator will work under little or no direct supervision and may be solely responsible for boiler operation of his\/her assigned shift.\n

Responsibilities: \n

The responsibilities shown below lists the major tasks, obligations, duties, and responsibilities typically assigned to the employee.\n\nPerform startup, operation, and shut down procedures for all boilers.\nOperate facility steam boilers and perform routine testing and inspections including but not limited to water sampling, boiler blow downs, etc. within environmental guidelines\nOperate facility air compressors and associated equipment to supply dry, oil free air to facility.\nPerform breakdown and routine maintenance on utility system equipment such as boilers, condensate pumps, feed water pumps, etc.\nEnsure optimal & continuous operation of mechanical systems by performing routine inspections & maintenance, monitoring metering equipment and adjusting levels as necessary\nMaintain systems by scheduling regular inspections, cleanings, filter replacement, and all other tasks necessary to keep all components performing optimally\nIdentify and repair or replace malfunctioning components\nSupports as necessary with equipment modifications for process changes, new models and expansion needs\nEnsures safety by monitoring safety equipment, identifying potential issues and taking appropriate steps to suspend operations and repair the problem\nSupervise team of assistant operators and mechanics by delegating repair, maintenance and monitoring tasks, scheduling jobs, providing appropriate instruction and giving constructive feedback on performance\nAssists as necessary with the identification and sourcing of required parts, supplies, and services\nWork from simple drawings or notes to complete assigned tasks.\nSafely operates equipment necessary to perform tasks, adhering to safety standards\nEnsures that equipment is in a safe and working condition and utilizes the Lock-Out Tag-Out program\nEnsures the application of Policies and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities\nExpected to perform other duties as assigned.\n\n

Qualifications: \n

The qualifications shown below are important qualities, including skills, abilities, knowledge, and experience necessary for the employee to be considered successful in their position.\n\nTop-level boiler operator license in at least one state\nMinimum 5 years of experience with complex boiler systems\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent\n\n
