Position Details: They are requiring 1.5 years of experience.  Prefer Schools background but open to clinic background This is an inner city school, 94% of students are below the poverty level Different schools are in very rough neighborhoods and behaviors can be very hard to manage  interviews will be held – we have asked that we receive 24-48 hour feedback.  Thursdays and Fridays are typically best for interviews Has candidate been submitted by any other agencies? 

Job Description from the District: 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

To provide behavior analysis services and behavior management plans for special education students enrolled in educational programs: provide support and professional learning to school site staff, para-educators, and parents/guardians in appropriate behavior intervention techniques: conducts assessments and develops plans that conform to IDEA, Alabama laws and regulations and other applicable statues and regulations.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and assist District staff with the development and implementation of behavior plans and other appropriate programs for students with behavior challenges Administer and assist District staff with assessments including VBMAPP and functional behavior assessments Participate in behavior teams providing support and management for the implementation of behavior plans Maintain appropriate records, assist and provide guidance for teachers and other staff in the implementation of behavior interventions Provide coaching and professional development of staff on behavior intervention plans. Assist with maintaining student data and prepare pertinent reports requested by Director of Special education Participate in IEP meetings to discuss behavior analysis and evaluation data to IEP team and recommendations Maintain confidentiality of information as required Communicate effectively with school staff both orally and in writing Organize materials and maintain accurate records Knowledge of school systems functions, departments, personnel, and schools necessary for the efficient and effective processing of information Ability to use computer skills required to do spreadsheets, word processing and record keeping Perform all other duties requested

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Must pass background screening

Must have the physical ability, aptitude and skills to complete duties related to the job

Valid Special Education Teacher, School Psychologist or Social Worker certification

Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification (required)

Experience in working in public schools

Knowledge of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports is preferred

Knowledge and ability in implementing physical management training required. Training in MANDT is preferred
