Job Description
The BMS Controls Technician plays a crucial role in the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of building management systems (BMS) within critical infrastructure settings. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in low voltage electrical systems, troubleshooting, and control wiring. The candidate will work under the guidance of a Technical Field Manager, collaborating with engineers, commissioning agents, and trade partners to ensure the company's standards for quality and safety are consistently met.
ResponsibilitiesInterpret and adhere to engineered control system blueprints and specifications.Perform device configuration, wiring termination, and network installation.Conduct point-to-point inspections and execute functional testing of control systems.Coordinate with field leadership to replace faulty equipment, sensors, or wiring.Essential Skills3-5 years of experience with building automation systems, including HVAC controls and BMS/BAS.Proficiency in building automation principles, low voltage controls, and sequencing logic.Knowledge of electrical safety protocols and adherence to OSHA standards.Understanding of basic networking concepts and device addressing (IP, BACnet, Modbus).Troubleshooting skills for electrical control circuits and low voltage systems.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, system schematics, and control drawings.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with N4 platforms is a plus.Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree is preferred but not required.Work Environment
The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor construction site settings, with occasional office visits in Worthington for training and certifications. All work is conducted within the SouthBend, IN
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.00 - $36.00/hr.
