As a Blockchain Payments Attorney - Vice President Assistant, General Counsel in the J.P. Morgan Payments Legal team, you will provide legal coverage for Kinexys Digital Payments and related blockchain-based payments initiatives. You will collaborate with global business teams and legal/compliance colleagues to address complex issues and advise on regulatory developments involving distributed ledger technology and cryptoassets. Job Responsibilities:

Provide and coordinate legal advice across complex issues for blockchain-based payment products.Collaborate with global business teams and legal/compliance colleagues to resolve complex issues.Offer key legal coverage for Kinexys Digital Payments, including blockchain deposit accounts, stablecoins, and deposit tokens.Advise the business on legal, regulatory, and market developments involving distributed ledger technology.Communicate and interact effectively with all levels of personnel and management.Independently identify issues, analyze problems, and provide viable solutions.Deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.Conduct conflicts of interest clearance review prior to employment commencement.Ensure compliance with in-house counsel registration rules of the state/jurisdiction.Provide valued independent counsel and wise judgment on business strategies.Manage projects efficiently with strong organizational and communication skills.

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

6+ years of relevant legal experience at a law firm, in-house legal department, or regulatory agency.Proven ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of personnel and management.Experience in collaborating on a broad range of business strategies.Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and project management skills.Self-starter with the ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.Licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state/jurisdiction of the position.

 

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Familiarity with banking law and Uniform Commercial Code Article 4A.Familiarity with blockchain technology and its application to payments.Experience in advising on legal, regulatory, and market developments involving cryptoassets.Reputation for providing valued independent counsel and wise judgment.Effective and efficient problem-solving skills.
